Kad kraljica romske glazbe zapjeva svoje daleko poznate hitove „Đelem đelem“ i „Čaje sukarije“, tko može ostati ravnodušan!?
Prvu priliku za pokazivanje raspona svojih vokalnih mogućnosti dobila je na natjecanju ‘Mikrofon je vaš’ 1957. godine, u kojem je tada 14-godišnja Esma predstavljala svoju školu. Esma je na ovoj, tada vrlo popularnoj emisiji koja se emitirala na Radio Skoplju osvojila prvu nagradu čime počinje sjajna glazbena priča ove vrhunske glazbenice koja traje već gotovo 60 godina.
U svojoj bogatoj karijeri Esma Redžepova održala je nebrojene koncerte, nastupila je na Sydneyjskom kulturnom ljetu pred oko 200.000 posjetitelja, na Womad Festivalu u Caceresu, u Španjolskoj, nastupa pred oko 100.000 ljudi; zatim na prestižnom North sea Jazz Festivalu u Rotterdamu i na mnogo drugih festivala u svijetu. Također je pjevala u pretižnim dvoranama, kao što je pariška Olimpija, kazalište Ronacher u Beču, kazalište Boljšoj u Moskvi, Opera u Frankfurtu i Opera u Kölnu.
Do sada je snimila oko 1.000 pjesama, a za dobar dio njih Esma je autor glazbe i teksta. Objavila je više od 500 ploča, kazeta i CD-a, kako za domaće, tako i za strane diskografske kuće.
U njenoj glazbi nema sredine!
Svojim pjesmama izražava ili veliku tugu ili veliku radost, a njena publika može svakako očekivati muzički vremeplov kroz 60 godina bogate karijere!
Godine 1976. na Prvom festivalu romske muzike, koji je održan u u Indiji, Esma je službeno proglašena Kraljicom romske glazbe, a priznanje joj uručuje osobno Indira Gandhi. Osim po svojoj bogatoj glazbenoj karijeri, Esma je poznata i kao humanitarka. Za svoj humanitarni rad, dvaput je bila kandidatkinja za Nobelovu nagradu za mir, a dobitnica je i brojnih drugih priznanja i nagrada.

The first opportunity to show the range of his vocal capabilities gained in the competition “The microphone is yours” in 1957, in which the then 14-year-old Esma represented her school. Esma won in this popular show that is broadcast on Radio Skopje the first prize, making a great musical story of this world-class musician that has lasted for nearly 60 years.
